Thanks to a recent collaboration with mobile deep linking platform Button, The Weather Channel is now able to present mobile web users with a seamless way to directly connect with services, allowing the user to quickly jump from mobile web to an app experience.
With this integration, The Weather Channel’s mobile web users will receive “buttons” from a variety of service providers based on contextual signals like weather, location, and time. For example, when looking at the forecast for the day, if rain is expected, a mobile web user may see a delivery.com “button” for easy food delivery options. In its initial implementation, mobile web users will have access to activities, transportation, food delivery and reservation services thanks to Button partners like Groupon, Uber, Delivery.com, Caviar, Resy, and more.
